Meet our Practitioners

Clinical Herbalist | Author | Herbal Educator | Biblical Teacher
I didn’t come into herbalism through curiosity. I came through crisis. At 23, after an emergency hysterectomy following my daughter’s birth, my body completely unraveled. My hormones were unstable, anxiety took over, and the medications I was given only made things worse. I remember thinking, there has to be another way.
So I started learning. Slowly at first, then deeply. I began working with plants, paying attention to my body, and over time, things started to shift in a way nothing else had.
Over the last 30+ years, I’ve walked through my own health challenges—Multiple Sclerosis, AuDHD, Complex PTSD, and the kind of metabolic struggles that come with long-term stress and trauma. I’ve also lost 100 pounds and kept it off, not through force, but by learning how to support my body instead of fighting it.
This work isn’t something I studied from a distance. I’ve lived it.
Because of that, I tend to work with people whose stories are a little more complex. The ones who feel like their body doesn’t quite fit the standard answers. People dealing with nervous system dysregulation, chronic stress, sleep that won’t settle, hormonal shifts, or patterns tied to trauma and neurodivergence.
When I sit down with someone, I’m not looking for a quick fix. I want to understand how your body got here. I look for patterns. I pay attention to how your nervous system is responding, how stress and hormones are interacting, and where things may have gotten stuck.
From there, we move slowly. Often starting with just one gentle herb. Your system has usually been through enough already. I pair that with simple, practical support—things that help your body feel safe again and begin to regulate.
I’ve spent years studying herbal traditions, stress physiology, trauma, and the nervous system, and I’ve been in clinical practice for over a decade. I’m also a Clinical Herbalist and member of the American Herbalists Guild and Christian Herbalists Guild. But more than anything, I bring a lived understanding of what it’s like to be in a body that doesn’t feel steady.
I don’t see people as problems to solve. I see patterns, stories, and systems that are trying to find their way back to balance. And I believe this deeply: your body is not broken.
It’s responding. When we learn how to support it with care, patience, and the right tools, healing becomes possible in a way that feels steady and sustainable.

Tracie Gonzalez (Mandel)
Herbal Practitioner | Herbal Educator | Biblical Teacher
My name is Tracie. I started my herbal journey back in 1996 after a health scare battle. I had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 12 and took thyroid medication faithfully for years. I still suffered with weight gain, constipation, dry skin, hair loss, feeling cold, severe fatigue, but I was assured all was “normal.” I knew in the back of my head it could not possibly be normal.
As I got older, the symptoms became worse and I had no energy. I was having to nap during my work day. My periods became extremely heavy and inconsistent. In a venting session with a co-worker, I was introduced to herbs for healing. I researched through books and bought many that I still use today. I signed up for classes under Rosemary Gladstar and gleaned from her wisdom.
I started on myself with different remedies and methods to help heal my body. I used the wisdom found in Scripture and looked for the herbs mentioned in there and read how to use them in the best way possible. I changed my eating habits and the toxic chemicals I was in contact with.
I was thriving, my children were thriving, and then came the divorce and the cross-country move. I fell away from my health knowledge and traded it for convenience. I paid the price with my health.
I recently had yet another medical scare and I have gone back to the way God intended me to live and thrive. I believe that God has plants here on this earth for a purpose other than beauty. These plants are for nourishment of our body, mind, and soul. He is our healer and He imparts wisdom and knowledge to those that seek Him.
